2026 100 Day Project – Days 22-28

2026 100 Day Project – Days 22-28

This week was spring break for me.  It should have been a week where creating came easy because I had very few things that I had to do.  What I have learned about myself, however, is that I need structure.  I do much better at getting all the things done when my days are packed and I know if I don’t do “it”, whatever “it” is, in the allotted time slot in my planner, “it” won’t get done.  When I don’t have a rigid schedule, I think I have all the time in the world and I let mindless distractions overtake me, which leads me to the end of the day where I discover that I accomplished almost nothing of significance.  Knowing this about myself makes me think I can never retire!

I do meditate on each day’s collage both as I am making it and when it is finished.  I also go back at the end of each week to see if there is something about the week’s collection that speaks to me.  This week’s collages seem to be all over the place – scattered and disconnected.  I guess in some way that may be a good thing??  Something has to keep things new and interesting over the long haul.  Creating in the same way for one hundred days has the real possibility of leading to monotony and boredom.  There are still seventy-two days left until the completion of this project.  That is June 1!  Looking at this time frame from the vantage point of this first full day of spring, June seems way far away.  I need to remember to look at things just one day at a time.

Here are Meditations #22-#28.
